Galera, eu estou começando em python e quero fazer um app que pegue o conteudo de um txt online

www.site.com/arquivo.txt eu já tentei usar a funçao open() mas sem sucesso... algué já fez alguma vez algo parecido?

Você precisa usar o módulo urllib. Ex: urllib.open(URL)
