Por favor, alguém pode me ajudar?

Copiei um código javascript da internet para menu horizontal, mas ele fica bem no topo da página. Como faço para eu mesma determinar a posição em que ele vai ficar, por exemplo uns 8cm abaixo do topo da página? Desde já, grata. Oi, consegui que o menu descesse: var str = '', itemX = 0, itemY = 0; alterei o valor de Y, mas o problema é que os sub menus ficaram lá embaixo... pode me ajudar?

hoje eu peguei da internet uma apostila de javascript mas estou com problema de entender o array eu só sei que ele é uma variavel, e uma variavel é o que na linguage de programação?
