Mascara nao funciona no IE

Galera, esta mascara que achei na internet nao funciona no ie, sera pq?

ele nao deixa digitar no campo

copiei aquele javascript la, fiz um arquivo java e fiz assim meu form, so que nao funcionou.

o ID estava confundindo com o nome da função.

aperte Ctrl+Shif+J e verifique os erros no Firefox.

Também baixei essa mascara e não funcionou com IE, para resolver o problema apenas retirei o trecho de código de validação

(<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">)

do código HTML, mas isso afeta o visual da página
